Massage

Massage is a great way to reduce general stress and muscular discomfort. It takes 20 minutes on a massage table to allow the nervous system to calm down…allowing your body to relax and unwind. Massage should not just be a treat. It should be part of general heath and wellbeing to allow our bodies and minds to better cope with our everyday lives.

Typically a massage therapy session will include multiple elements of the bodywork techniques mentioned below. Your needs and requirements will be discussed at the start of every session to make sure you are getting the right treatment to suit your needs.

A form of massage that works general muscle tissue, specifically accessing deeper layers of tissue.

A deep tissue session is usually a full or half-body treatment with emphasis on a few bothersome areas, with relaxation of muscle being the ultimate goal.

Deep tissue massages are mainly sought when one is under stress and wants to relax, or when muscles are tight from workouts and immobility, and are typically scheduled on an “as needed” basis. It will get the body moving and feeling better.

This is a western form of Acupuncture. With the use of acupuncture needles; trigger points and tight ‘knots’ in a muscle can be targeted for fast release.

This can be particularly effective when deep or hard to reach muscles are causing the issues. This treatment, if used alone, will be an express session. If a longer session is wanted then it will be combined with other massage techniques.

Ortho-Bionomy is a gentle, non-invasive form of body therapy. The basic level uses positional release techniques to relax muscles which allows the skeletal structure to realign to its preferred location.

The human body ultimately knows how to fix itself but sometimes it gets a little lost on the way. This modality helps guide the body so it can heal itself to reduce discomfort and dysfunction.

Ortho-Bionomy is extremely effective in working with chronic stress and pain or problems associated with postural or structural imbalances caused through injuries, stress or illness.

These treatment session are typically done with the client wearing loose and comfortable clothing.

NMT is a specific and detailed approach to identify and address the causes of soft tissue pain and dysfunction. It helps achieve a balance between the nervous and musculoskeletal systems by targeting the possible cause and/or perpetuating factors leading to and keeping the body in its state of imbalance.

NMT utilises advanced massage techniques to restore postural alignment, release muscle spasms, release nerve entrapment from soft tissue structures, eliminate myofascial trigger points causing referred pain symptoms, increase limited flexibility and joint range of motion and promote good biomechanics.

Postural assessment, range of motion testing and stretching exercises may be used to find the source of discomfort. Muscle re-education and greater body awareness will aim to make permanent changes to obtain a healthy, happy body.
